Four women in the Prescott and Chino Valley, Arizona, have teamed up to form a co-op.  Jan Mauck, Vanessa Emmons, Penny Harney and Gwen Doty, all living in the Prescott Tri-City area, plan to work together to promote the alpaca industry in central Arizona.  You can learn more about this co-op and view the many alpacas that these women have for purchase on this website.  All four of these ranches encourage people to come for a visit and see what the excitement is all about.  Alpaca ranching is truly a relaxing lifestyle and a profitable investment.

What the Co-op hopes to Accomplish:

Alpacas of Central Arizona would like to promote "Women in Business" and demonstrate just how easy it is for women to handle and care for alpacas, and why so many current alpaca owners are women.  As a co-op, these women can be of mutual support to each other as they learn and experience the ALPACA phenomenon!  Ranch tours and setting up sales can be very time consuming, and as a co-op they can participate together and enjoy the "softer than cashmere" end products that alpacas produce for them.  In forming a cohesive group, they will work together on advertising, farm visits, and public education as well as the enhancement of alpaca sales.  As the group learns to work "smart" together, there should be more and more opportunities to expand on their goals and provide additional options and services to the public and community.

Goals of the Co-op

1)Camaradarie
2)Support
3)Bulk purchases
4)Combining advertising dollars
5)Promoting alpacas and the many benefits of alpaca ranching
